Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital will host a “Pink Out” event on Friday, September 28, 2012 to benefit the Pennsylvania Pink Zone. The event will take place rain or shine in the parking lot across from the Surgical Center at the Hospital.
Beginning at 3:00 pm, there will be a pink ribbon cutting ceremony, pig roast, silent auction, themed basket raffle, 50/50, and an opportunity to view the auction items. At 5:30 pm, the silent auction will be closed and the raffle winners will be announced. The live auction will begin at 5:00 pm. Auctioneer services are courtesy of Tammy A. Miller who is also an international speaker, author, speech coach as well as a breast cancer survivor.
The Breast Care Center at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital is once again a beneficiary of the Pennsylvania Pink Zone, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit that hosts the annual WBCA Pink Zone Penn State Lady Lion’s Basketball game every February at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and its goal is to raise funds for breast cancer awareness, research and education. Each year the Penn State Lady Lions raise monies for breast cancer related charities. In addition to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital’s Breast Care Center, this year’s recipients will also include: Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, and J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Last year, the Lady Lions donated nearly $200,000 for breast cancer causes.
