Sleep diagnostic services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the Geisinger–Lewistown Hospital Sleep Center. Our Center provides private and secure home-like sleeping rooms with private restrooms with showers.
The sleep technician will prepare you for this painless study by attaching monitoring equipment to your head, legs, chest, abdomen, and under your nose. Bedtime will be between 10:00 and 11:00 unless otherwise requested. If needed, you may use the restroom during the night. Once the sleep study is completed (usually between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m.) you are free to shower and leave for work or home. A complimentary breakfast coupon to the Hospital's Eatery is provided upon request.
Please contact our Sleep Center if you are not feeling well the day of your study. To obtain an optimal study, your study may need to be rescheduled for reasons such as cold, flu, sinusitis or any other type of infection or virus.
When scheduling your study please inform us if you are a shift worker. The sleep study should be performed during your normal sleeping times. Special scheduling may be necessary for shift workers or abnormal sleeping times.
