Labor & Delivery

Your doctor or midwife will help you decide when you need to come to the hospital. The admission process will be much easier if you have completed a pre-admission visit through the Special Beginnings program. Call (717) 242-7438 for more information.

No one is denied treatment at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital because of race, age, sex, national origin, handicap, religious belief, or ability to pay.

While you are in the labor and delivery suite, it is a comfort to know someone is there to support you. Support people play a vital role in your labor and delivery experience. Therefore, you may have up to three support persons with you during your labor and delivery experience. We ask that you limit your support persons to these same three as much as possible. This will help limit the amount of "traffic" in labor and delivery. All other visitors are requested to wait in the waiting room provided for their use.
