Health Insurance

As you and your baby go home, please remember that most insurance companies require that you formally add your newborn to your health and life insurance coverages. Newborns are normally covered for the initial hospitalization at birth; however, many plans do require that they be added within 30 days to the health insurance coverage to be continuous. As a new parent, you should double check either the booklet describing the health benefits and take the necessary steps to add your baby, or you should contact the office assisting employees with health insurance. If you have life insurance, you may need to add your baby to children’s life riders and/or beneficiary information.
