Pediatrics Unit (3B)

Our physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers are committed to helping children lead healthier lives. Our nurses receive specialized training for pediatric patients and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. We promote "partnerships" with the families in providing care to our patients. Parents are encouraged to stay overnight with their child and be active in his/her care in restoring and sustaining their health and development. Care is sensitive to and respectful of the patient's and family's cultural diversity and lifestyle choices.

Quality pediatric care, from birth to adolescent, requires specialized training in order to meet the specific healthcare needs. Children's bodies respond differently to illness and/or surgery.

To reduce stress and promote healing, the children may be provided with handcrafted quilts/blankets, teddy bears, and/or specially made gift boxes, "Jordon's Treasures" and more.  A library with many books, in addition to game systems, videos, and toys, are available for the pediatric patient.
