The Breast Care Center at Lewistown Hospital is proud to be a beneficiary of the Pennsylvania Pink Zone, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit that hosts the annual WBCA Pink Zone Penn State Lady Lion’s Basketball. This year, the Lady Lions welcome Michigan for the 7th annual Pink Zone Game on February 24, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The Pennsylvania Pink Zone and Penn State Lady Lion Basketball are a unified force in the fight against breast cancer on the court, across campus, and within communities. The Pennsylvania Pink Zone promotes cancer awareness and empowers survivors through year-round efforts to raise funds critical in supporting vital breast cancer organizations, charities, and facilities that focus on breast cancer education, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
As one of the six beneficiaries, Lewistown Hospital and its Wellness 4 Women Group (W4W) are committed to supporting and raising funds for the Pennsylvania Pink Zone. Throughout the year, the Hospital and W4W Group have been hosting various fundraising events including a auction, Super Bowl Raffle, Jeans Days, Pink Out Day, and more.

JP Edward’s Restaurant and Seven Mountains Wine Cellars are supporting the Pennsylvania Pink Zone 2013 fundraising efforts which benefit the Breast Care Center at Lewistown Hospital as well as five other beneficiaries this year.

On Thursday, February 21, 2013, JP Edward’s Restaurant in Burnham will feature two pink zone entrées: “Pink Zone” Pasta - bowtie pasta, mushrooms, chicken and sundried tomatoes in a “Pink Zone” cream sauce and “Pink Zone” Stuffed Chicken Breast – mushrooms, bacon and feta topped with a “Pink Zone” garlic cream sauce. Both come with two sides. There will also be four “Pink Zone” specialty drinks to choose from. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Pink Zone.
Seven Mountains Wine Cellars and Main Street Market
On February 22, 23 and 24, 2013, Seven Mountains Wine Cellars will donate 20% of all wine purchases made at both their State College location and Main Street Market in Reedsville which now sells Seven Mountain wines.
