Full-time employees are eligible for these benefits at no cost after six months of continuous employment. Part-time employees may purchase benefits after six months of continuous employment.
The amount of the life insurance coverage for a full-time employee is equal to the employee's prior year W-2 earnings rounded to the nearest $500 (to a maximum of $150,000). The Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance coverage is equal to the Life Insurance amount.
Full-time employees are eligible for twice as much coverage paid for by the organization in some options; they may also purchase the additional amount at group rates. Part-time employees are also eligible to purchase coverage of $10,000 at the group rates.
