Dr. Anderson to Perform Laparoscopic Adjustbible Gastric Banding Surgeries
February 19, 2010 (Lewistown, PA) – G. Scott Anderson, MD, general surgeon for Lewistown Hospital’s Family Health Associates Surgical Services is newly credentialed to perform Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding surgeries at Lewistown Hospital. Dr. Anderson had previously performed laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding surgeries at Penn State Hershey Surgical Weight Loss at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Anderson, along with Virginia M. Wray, DO, CNSP, Program Director for FHA Center for Weight Management and Nutrition, will be working together to provide a healthy option for patients who struggle with weight loss. Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding is a type of weight loss surgery that helps morbidly obese patients achieve and maintain a healthier body weight. Dr. Anderson specializes in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at York Hospital, York, Pennsylvania, and his fellowship at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania.
